I was wary about what the quality of this lens would be as it covers such a wide range, but having read probably every review out there, I thought I would give it a go. And I needn't have worried. This lens produces excekllent images at all focal lengths. The size is incredibly small. For an equivalent lens on a DSLR, it would be four times the size. This will be staying on my camera permanently. It's sharper than the 12-50mm, has wider apertures and focus is still very fast.

a great lens - and it comes with lens hood - for those who have the older version - this is a must as it is so so much lighter - IQ is about the same - but of course it is a tiny bit faster at F3.5-5.6 vs F4.0-5.8 - Weight is the main thing - but it is as good as a zoom can get - price is very reasonable - yes of course one gets better results with a good prime - but not always practical to use a zoom - a highly recommended lens - a must have for Lumix owners -

I'm no camera/lens expert .. I got this, so I can travel with one lens rather than 3.. It does more than I expected! However I've found myself packing a 2nd macro lens in my bag. This thing is not very bulky but my goodness it's heavy! I've simplified my small camera bag.. but certainly not lightened it! I'm glad I didn't go for the 45-200.. this one has reduced the number lens changes!

Very versatile lens don't have to go back a long way to get the full picture in. Happy with purchase.

Nice and sharp throughout the range. Best though shot wide open as image quality suffers a little above f11 Incredibly light for such a wide range Dual image stabilization works a treat.
