For me this is the perfect blender. Compact & powerful enough to handle any task I have. I liked it so much @ home that I bought a 2nd Vitamix 5300 blender for my office.

Amazing blender, great for pureeing ingredients for soups, especial Shrimp or Lobster Bisque. My wife would not eat split pea soup because of the grittiness she has always encountered. She reluctantly tried a batch I made using this Vitamix 5300 blender, and she loved it. Made so many more creamy soups during this Pandemic. It is a heavy unit and difficult to place into a lower kitchen cabinet, but stores nicely on the countertop. Great for chopping potatoes for home fries, etc. Makes great smoothies. Easy to clean after use. I will soon be using this blender for homemade horseradish preparation. Have owned a large Cuisinart Food Processor for many years, but it has too many safety switches and difficult to clean. Hoping this one lasts for years.

I have had other high speed blenders, but, in the end, they did not compare with a Vitamix. There are a few models out there with added bells and whistles. But, they all perform with the same powerful speed and performance one can get from a Vitamix. This has been my go to since receipt. Smoothies, dressings, soups, salsas, humus! It is about the same size as my other blenders so finding space is the same a finding space for my other appliances...I make room. :-)

Plenty of power to blend most anything you desire; Pretty loud but not obnoxiously so; Container is gigantic so making small single servings can be challenging. Overall I'd say well worth what I paid for it as long as it is reliable.
