Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in Cassette/Tape Players
It has all the functionality of the rsb965 but without any of its problems, a truly brilliant sounding machine with almost any tape type, these have motorised doors not like the rs565, and of course 3 heads means everything with recording, i could never go back to a 2 head machine now for recording, i only ever use my rsb565 for playback plugged into this one. This is one of if not the best deck technics ever made, it really does sound that good, tapes are back in a big way a 76% increase in sales last year (2016) so with that said if your going to record do it properly and buy one of these machines. i cannot recommend the rsb965 simply because from the factory it has a lot of problems, especially in its preamp section, it needs about £60 in modifications to fix all the issues they have, this BX727 has none of these issues, its a really great machine, and REALLY great with maxell tape, even maxell UR sound so nice in this machine, nice powerful sound and bucket loads of bass and treble. Please dont ignore my warning about the 965, even the rs b565 is a much better sounding machine, i freaking love this thing, technics certainly knew what they were doing with this model, a heavyweight in sound this, you will make recordings that beat any CD by a country mile with maxell metal tape, all the calibration features this deck has makes recording not only a doddle but an absolute pleasure and not a chore. everyone brags about nakamichi, well they dont interest me they are just ugly to my eyes and highly overrated in general, ive owned 2 of them the cassette deck 1 and cassette deck 1.5, neither of them were worth shouting about, just boring machines to look at and listen too. if you have a pair of technics direct drive dj turntables, this recorder is a must for making memorable recordings, something you can pass down not just mp3 software. I have upgraded its 4066 chips to texas instruments versions, these give far better sound quality especially in the high frequencies, also changed the recording amp resistors to give 6db more gain whilst recording, as standard the recording amp clips before the tape does. Grab one you will just love it. 10/10Read full review
