Excellent and professional presentation. The diagrams, clear enlarged photos, directions, and schematics are nicely cataloged and organized to help most skill levels including an experienced novice like myself. The only inclusion I would like to see are well documented upgrades others have done which go beyond the scope of this restoration. Certainly the law of diminishing returns will apply, but additional upgrades at a reasonable cost should be offered, such as a phono section upgrade. I'm sure they are many who would purchase reasonably priced upgrades to bring their Fisher closer to tube nirvana. Just a thought. Thank you and a job well done!

Guide begins with detailed instructions and accompaning photos, however it end abruptly, leaving you with many parts and no description of where they go. I've been in the electronic engineering field for a long time so thankfully I know how to read schematics and know how to solder. I would not recommend this guide for a beginner, even though they mention a beginner can do this. I feel it need much more detail and better photos to be of any use for the layman. Overpriced for what you receive..

My barn has stereo as this replaced and upgraded an older Technics unit. The wife and I have defined a whole new meaning to the words "barn dance". My old technics lasted 45 years and if this one lasts half as long, maybe my kids will be dancing to it's music long after I am dead and buried. the power is a great upgrade to run my old vinyl and the 55 watts of sound is fantastic to fully run my speaker system.

An option should be added that replaces the above chassis electrolytic capacitors. In my case, I found that one of the capacitors were starting to leak, and I decided to order additional capacitors to replace all of the power supply electrolytics. The time required to wait for the additional components could have been eliminated if you would offer an option to replace the large top of chassis capacitors. I plan on gutting the cans and installing the new capacitors inside the shells.

I have a Fisher 500 C (the tube workhorse) and picked up a 500T by chance in a thrift store. I was surprised at how good FM radio sounded through the 500T. So good that I ended up buying three more to put in other rooms in the house. For the money, they're fantastic and I never thought a transistor unit could sound this good.
