The Pentax 67 medium format camera is built like a tank and takes wonderful 6 x 7 cm negatives. The quality of the 105 F2.4 lens is excellent giving beautiful background blur. I bought it based on positive reviews and an affordable choice for 6x7 format popular with fashion, portrait, landscape photography. Unlike TLRs like Rolliflex & Yashicamat cameras, this camera works more like an slr which I prefer thus what you see is what you get in the viewfinder, no paralax error. It is a very bulky, large and heavy camera which may turn people off and the camera shutter gives a very powerful vibration through the camera requiring fast shutter speeds or a tripod to prevent camera shake in the images. If you enjoy the slower, more relaxed pace of photography (posed people, still lifes or landscape) this is a fabulous and affordable option in the 6x7 format.Read full review
I have owned a few 67 bodies in the past.. A chunky SLR body... from a basic point of view, from when I used to work in retail, the question is: 'how does it feel in your hands?' For me, having long 'pianist' fingers, absolutely fantastic - an SLR for someone with big fingers... very subjective... If you want a great film camera and have larger hands and fingers, this is a great camera......
