These older large venue Epson projector are plenty bright and reliable. So bright that you can run them in 16:9 mode (they have 4:3 native aspect ratio) and still have enough light to display a fantastic picture really big(I have a 16' wide screen for backyard movie night). People don't believe me when I tell the the picture is from a $100 projector. But remember these units were close to $3,000.00 when new.. For the downside, they are big as a suitcase so they have limited portability. They also only take VGA input, but with a VGA to component cable, I use these projectors for gaming on xbox 360, television viewing on cable tv (both systems have component output), and laptop viewing with an older laptop with VGA output. I've played around with a HDMI converter but really haven't found anything I liked. I own several. The OEM bulbs are quite reliable. The earliest I had on projector go bad was around 2,500 hours, Epson said the polarizers went as any dark scenes/black had a green tint. If you buy one, try and get one with low hours as they are prone to LCD degradation.Read full review
