I'll start by saying I've bought 4 stills on eBay from 3 different sellers . I immediately returned the 2 I didn't buy from Ron . I returned them due to safety . The first one ..... has razor sharp edges. The second one .... had more solder than copper . I originally bought a 7 gallon still , thumper, and worm from Ron . I was blown away by the workmanship! He truly is an artist. Better yet ..... the still design actually distilled perfect. He folds the bottom lip over the body . He then solders it on the inside. This eliminates the possibility of the joint coming loose during distillation. I barely have to use any rye flour paste to seal it up . His craftsmanship is that good ! The only negative thing I have to say is ..... he uses a 3/4 inch plug and hole on his thumpers . He will however make u a custom piece by request. I had him put a 2" coupler and brass plug on the second still I bought from him . That allows me to add flavors to my thumper. I sometimes put crushed berries or cinnamon sticks in my thumper. Those of us who really know how to make good liquor...... know the best way to make a flavorful liquor is .... to infuse it in the thumper. I recently had him build me a custom set up . He's so perfect.... the only things I changed were the couplers. Both on the thumper and arms . There are a bunch of idiots out there that say a still made from 16oz 24ga copper won't hold up . That's bull . I've put mine through hell . I've distilled well over 200 batches with my 7 gal set up . As long as you don't run your still dry ...... there's no need for 20 oz 22 ga copper . It doesn't hurt to use 20 oz . It is however a waste of money . His stills are so beautiful.... I'm buying a third one from him . This one will be a display in my man cave . I've been soldering copper pipe my entire life . I do maintenance for a living . Needless to say ....... I've sweated a lot of pipe . I cannot come even close to soldering as good or neat as him . If u want to make good liquor or just want a piece of true art . Pioneer copper works is the only place u need to go . If you want a few GREAT recipes...... message me . My eBay name is proarcher11. I make the best chocolate rye on the planet! My double cinnamon also got great reviews. I hope this helps in some way . Keep the tradition alive !Read full review

Been distilling shine for 35 years, wanted to teach my grandkids so I ordered this unit from Ron. It is one of, if not the best quality work I have ever seen and I have seen lots of pots. Thanks Ron and Candy

The copper workmanship almost makes me want to hang this on the wall instead of using it. Too late though. Works very well. For the money, you can’t beat this handmade copper pot-still.
