About this product

Product Information

EyeToy: Groove is a PlayStation 2 dancing game, different from any that came before it in at least one important way. Unlike genre-founding titles such as Konami's Dance Dance Revolution or rhythm-shooter hybrids such as Amplitude or Rez, Groove doesn't use a dance pad, or even a standard Dual Shock controller. Instead, players dance to the beat in front of the EyeToy camera, which displays their moves on the TV screen as the game software calculates the accuracy of their rhythm and timing to the music being played.

Prompts appear on the screen, directing players to move their arms, hips, and bodies in time to the beat. Various game modes allow two players to compete head-to-head for high-scores, conquer challenges together, or just have fun dancing on their own television screens. A calorie-counter feature can estimate the amount of energy spent moving to the music. Groove features an eclectic selection of over two dozen licensed songs, by artists such as Jamiroquai, Jessica Simpson, Fatboy Slim, Madonna, and Elvis Presley.

I’ll start by saying the item itself was in good condition & the seller shipped quickly. Aside from that this seller needs to learn Customer Service 101. Man was he unfriendly. He posted pictures of other mugs in his listing confusing what you’re actually buying. When I reached out regarding it he was so rude. If he didn’t want to exchange the items he could have just said sorry I can’t no exchanges. Instead this guy was looking for an argument. Would never buy from again & will warn everybody.

  • Can be fun when it works

I like the idea of this game, it even has a calorie counter. I bought this game and the eyecam for my girls that love dancing. I also bought it for me as part of a daily exercise that keeps track of calories burnt. The problem is getting the camera to work properly. The lighting seems to need to be perfect for it to work properly. The other problem is when you have the game on and want to choose your game or other options, you have to use your hands to choose what you want instead of using the controller. This is sometimes impossible to do. You have to have the lighting just right to get this to work. It sees your hand but it doesnt always complete the function to choose the option. When you can get it to work properly, it is a lot of fun!

  • Lots of fun!

This game is kind of like DDR, only you use your hands instead of your feet! It's harder than you might think, and you actually get kind of a workout playing. :-) We already had the game that came with EyeToy, so we knew how it worked. Some of the songs are not familiar to me and my family - I think the game originated in Great Britain. But most people will recognize most of them. The songs range from 70s disco to modern dance hits. There's even Elvis!

  • Awesome addition to the eye toy

I purchased EyeToy: Groove as a gift for a friend of mine. Personally not a fan of the EyeToy itself, I wasn't looking to play it at all. Once I tried it, I got hooked! The game is simple to use as any previous EyeToy game and is packed full of fun modes to keep you moving and playing for hours. However, the song list on the game is short and only has a few good hits. Overall playability of the game is great and I recommend it to anyone who likes to have a great time playing EyeToy with friends or by themselves.

  • interesting game

interesting game hard to do in dark lighting and needs more music options and some updated music. old songs are good but a lot of them i didn't know. the ones i did know were way out dated, like the ymca, and a few others like that.
