This lens is unique because apochromatic correction and an aspherical surface are combined for the first time. Two of the five lens elements are made of high-refraction optical glass, and two others make judicious use of anomalous partial dispersion. Brilliance and resolving power are already outstanding at full aperture. Artificial vignetting is extremely low. These features lead to superlative results - in every application: such as portraiture, reportage or studio photography. In addition, its compact design and high speed make it ideal for hand-held photography.

Leica 90 Summicron APO
I'm using this on my Sony A7R-ii and can only comment on how it performs on my camera using my settings so your results may differ. The A7R-ii is a full frame camera and I'm using a Voigtlander helicord adapter to allow closer focusing distances. First, it's much lighter and smaller than you might realize. I'll keep this short and to the point: (10 being the highest grade) Color: 9.5 Bokeh: 9 Sharpness: 10 CA: 7 Cost factor: 5 Ease of use: 7 Resale value: 7 I also have the previous version (non APO) and have compared the two. The APO provided much cleaner results through my eyes. Knowing that the lens you have on your camera can help you achieve your intended image, it allows you to focus on the subject more and less worrying about the mechanics of the lens. Tops in a mini telephoto lens.
Not as ultra-expensive as other Leitz lenses, but every bit as sharp and as durable. Because I like to get imaging details, it is my go-to lens. Superb as well for portraits. (My other Leitz lenses: 35mm Summilux; Noctilux.

Leica SUMMICRON-R 90mm f/2 E55 Lens
The lens consists of 5 elements in 5 groups,the minimum supported aperture is f/22, the minimum focusing range is 68cm. The lens showed minimal levels of vignetting on FF cameras. Color fringing was not really visible throughout the aperture range and the lens held up nicely against flare and distortion.

Worth every penny.
This lens lives up to its' reputation. It is tack sharp and renders in a very uniquely Leica way. The images wide open have beautiful tonality with almost a 3D pop.
