Two leaking valves successfully repaired but poor instructions
The kit contains a plastic multitool, two gland inserts and an instruction sheet (English only). The good news is that I was able to repair two 20-year old thermostatic valves (British Gas branded) and completely eliminate the leaks, one of which was quite severe. Unfortunately the instructions are rather poor. The multitool can be used for three purposes - loosening a locking ring, adjusting the TRV's flow rate and extracting the gland insert. Step 1 of the instructions explains how to loosen the locking ring and adjust the flow rate but this step is completely unnecessary if you only want to unscrew the gland and replace it with a new one. Changing the gland is what most people are likely to be buying this kit for so this ought to be covered at the top of the instruction sheet. Having ... The big advantage of this kit is that there is no need to drain the system. Some water leaks out during gland removal and replacement but this can easily be mopped up with an old towel. As a DIYer I found the instructions misleading and until you've had hands-on experience using this kit is not particularly straightforward. It's also expensive but to Drayton's credit at least their TRV's are designed to be repairable.

Look beyond the price...
As you only need to change one gland seal this kit will service two radiators, and you can use the multi-tool balance key over and over, providing you don't use too much force and break the plastic lugs off, and providing you can source the correct gland seals without having to buy the whole kit again. Is it good value? No. Drayton set the price and it's terrible value for three bits of plastic & rubber. Perhaps a design fault as I had to repair 2 out of 3 valve that were fitted within the last few years. Maybe a slight wind in would have sufficed , as is done with an ordinary water tap.Easy to fit. No mess, Why only 2 replacement seals available as the key will continue for ever, consequently not very environmentally friendly for a professional plumber but great for DIY, until you have to replace 3 or more. Does the job easily and effectively
Simple but effective means of fixing a leak in a radiator valve. Only downside is it seems expensive for 2 plastic seals and a plastic key. Ordering and delivery excellent. On the basis of ease of use, effectiveness and speed of receipt of repair kit I would highly recommend.
