Keeping on the level.
This is a brilliant attachment, made specifically for the Nikon P1000 it is a perfect fit. Being extremely light, I will leave it permanently attached to the camera. When used with a remote control there is no movement whatsoever as the lens is zoomed out to its maximum and pictures are taken when fitted to my tripod. The quality is first class, well made, strong and finished to a very high standard. A must have for anyone who has bought this camera. Well worth the money for such a piece of well engineered excellence. I thoroughly recommend this tripod plate. Sturdy Plate for Tripod
As described, provides much better balance and support on the tripod than the standard plate. It is very expensive for such a small item, but is only a fraction of the price of the camera, so that has to be taken into account.

It works
Anyone who tries to use a Nikon P1000 on a tripod needs this mount, otherwise you have to hold the lens up with your hand when shooting with a longer focal length as the lens will tip over slightly, which defeats the purpose of the tripod. This mount fixes the problem completely. It's not cheap, but it's worth it.
