About this product

Product Information

The Nikon mount AT-X 124 PRO DX II has a built-in AF motor drive. The motor inside the lens was loaded onto the Nikon mount specification anew. The AF operates smoothly and quietly due to a DC motor that uses an AF control gear assembly. The Canon version of the lens already has a built-in AF motor and will benefit from the improved multi-coating.The optical system of original AT-X 124 PRO DX won awards for its sharpness world-wide. This design was maintained in the AT-X 124 PRO DX II and improved with the introduction of multi-coating system. The multi-coating helps reduce reflections that can cause flare and ghosting even more than in the AT-X 124 PRO DX.The AT-X 124 PRO DX II features the one-touch focus clutch mechanism. To use the one-touch focus clutch mechanism, move the focus ring forward, towards the front of the lens, for AF or back for MF. This allows for a fast and easy manual over-ride in difficult lighting situations.Digital single-lens reflex DX lens dedicated to digital SLR cameras with APS-C sized sensors.

The lens looks like a new one. Just AF not working what was not mentioned in the advert. However, just waiting for information from the service on how much it's will cost me.

  • Seriously good wide angle zoom.

Seemingly no distortion that I have been able to see even at maximum 12mm. Heavy but operation very smooth and comfortable. Gives the impression of being very professional and of top quality. Happy with my purchase.

  • Sharp, well-built and an absolute bargain

I decided to buy this lens after reading a review of the Mark II version in a magazine, where the Tokina won out over Nikon, Tamron and Sigma competitors. I did a bit of searching and found out that the only real differences between the Mk I and the Mk II are extra optical coatings on the II. For the money I saved getting the earlier one, I can do without those anyway. First things first, as with any Tokina lens, is just how solid the thing is. It's just so weighty and substantial, and it feels so... expensive! The materials are excellent quality and it feels far more satisfyingly robust and tight than any other ultra-wide I've tried. Secondly, the zoom and focus rings are pleasingly 'mechanical', by which I mean that you can feel metal moving against metal as you turn the focus ring, ...

this is a fantastic lens, thought long and hard about which wide angle lens to buy, done some research, reviews said this lens was the best build quality and best image quality. the price was great for a brand new lens, still alot of money to me tho, but when i got lens, next day delivery! played with it for a few weeks, i must say, best lens ive ever used, been taking the best shots ive ever taken, wish id bought this lens a yr ago, fantastic, showed it to a mate who has done pro work, he had never heard of it, went straight home to see what lenses they to for the nikon fit! im so impressed with this lens, cant wait to see what pics i can take next with it. price was brilliant, tho, erm , all instructions were in japannese lol. and id never used a lens with a focus clutch before, so for ...
