A thoughtful and interesting police drama.
If you want car chases and shootouts then Dixon of Dock Green is not for you. But in place of the vicarious adrenaline rush you get a thoughtful and well-written plot based around looking for clues, analysing evidence, and solving the crime. Jack Warner as Dixon is obviously too old to be a police officer but who cares? Dixon's relationship with his son-in-law Andy, a detective who does most of the action, adds a family atmosphere to the Dock Green "nick". Well worth watching. If only all 432 episodes had survived!
