About this product

Product Information

Create fuzzy classic boutique effects like the heavy guitar players of the 1970's by hooking up your electric instrument to the Electro-Harmonix Little Big Muff effects pedal. Named after the company's legendary Big Muff Pi pedal, this unit delivers the same fat fuzz sound and smooth-as-silk sustain as its predecessor. The original Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi fuzz box has a rich history in musical accessories. With users ranging from Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana to The White Stripes and Pink Floyd, that single piece of musical gear has contributed to the unique sounds of over four decades of music. In a written history of the Big Muff line, its creator, Mike Matthews, is quoted as saying he designed the units to couple distortion with sustain. He also wanted to do it in a three-knob overdrive device that offers maximum versatility and control. In order to do it, however, he had to make certain mechanical adjustments to prevent raspiness in the overdrive tone. The solution was a sweet, pure, and crisp violin type of sound that's still present in this incarnation of the legendary vintage unit. This "little brother" to the 1970's Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi unit offers the exact same circuitry in a more compact version. It's as good regardless of whether you’re jamming in a classic rock or heavy metal style. The Little Big Muff adds surface-mount technology (SMT) for greater efficiency within the smaller design. That way, this unit can pack the same great big sound of the 5.5 by 6.81 by 3-inch Big Muff into a tough die-cast casing measuring 3.5 by 1.13 by 4.5 inches. It is also durable enough to take a tumble or kick on the stage. This distortion pedal uses a 9-volt battery power supply or an optional 96DC power supply. It features true bypass, which means it comes with a switching mechanism that directly connects the input and output anytime the effect is turned off. This way, the signal from the guitar or any other instrument can flow freely through the turned-off unit without interference from the effect. This is useful because pedals without true bypass can often suffer from a "tone sucking" phenomenon, or an unwanted reduction in high and mid frequencies, while the effect is turned off. Control this distortion sound pedal easily with the sustain, tone, and volume knobs to create a smooth long note as you jam. An input port on the right side is where you plug in your guitar or bass to get started. An output port on the left connects to your amps, mixing board, or another musical effects accessory. A simple foot switch enables and disables the effect for quick and easy powering. Like the original Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, the Little Big Muff is made for guitars. Bass guitarists, however, find it great to play with as well. The reason for this is due to its excellent low-frequency response in the bass tone range. This Electro-Harmonix fuzz pedal unit also comes with basic instructions for its use.

    BEEFY!

Not a pedal for the weak. After only 8 minutes of playing this I had a full beard and was wearing a flannel shirt I didn't even own! Not that wussy lumber-sexual beard either. I immediately stopped playing, grabbed a chainsaw and cut down the tree in my backyard. The noise from the saw is not even close to the ferocity of the Big Muff. A pedal for men who pay heavy guitars. Les Paul type stuff. None of this wimpy triple single coil garbage. The Big Muff will destroy your lighter-than-air Stratos! I added 22 pounds of weights to my guitar to feel worthy! Yep, I like it........ You can even tone it down a bit for a bluesy-classic rock sound. Just don't wear that stupid Stevie Ray Vaughn pirate hat....

  • Extreme fuzz tone....does exactly as it's supposed to.

Basically, I bought this pedal because I was beginning to build on my pedal inventory. I already had Wah and a compressor and next in line (literally) was a fuzz-tone. I read reviews about this one and it seemed to be what I was looking for. The reviews also said that some people didn't like it, that it wasn't for everyone. I guess because it's a bit grungy, but I wanted to play "Glycerine" by Bush, and this pedal fit the bill to a T. It's also variable with the controls, so it doesn't have to be really scraggly sounding. The one I received from ebay "brand new in the box", came with a battery installed, but when the battery died on me (very quickly), I went to open up the bottom and found that 3 out of the 4 screws were stripped beyond ...

  • Great budget grab

The nano is great!! You just uses very little space, The nano muff sounds just like the big brother muff. No different just smaller for pedal board space. And yes it is true bypass too. Nice price too. It’s warm fat and fuzzy, grab one it won’t disappoint.

  • Sounds good, but NOT made in USA despite label - inside says made in china

Love the sound and controls are easy and predictable to use. Consumes batteries quickly. Was very disappointed when I went to replace the battery that despite the paint on the outside of the case saying Made in NYC, USA, on the inside of the same piece of metal was stamped Made in China. What? Lost a lot of trust there because I thought I was buying something else. but It does sound great.

  • I love my Little Big Muff☺

Showed up in excellent condition and sounds awesome😎👍.
