    Perfect progression from film slr to digital

    Having used a Pentax MG up to about 20 years ago I wanted a dslr that would allow me to shoot in auto when I wanted but easily switch to manual with vintage lenses without too much hassle. The K10D could not be more perfect! As a mid range dslr (of it's era) it does not have lots of pre-set functions (that I am aware of) it simple has a choice of auto, semi auto, shutter/aperture/sensitivity priorities or manual. I can literally shoot as if I'm back with my Pentax mg but without having to worry about cost of film and processing but switch to point and shoot if I feel so inclined with the kit lens. I would highly recommend this model to anyone wishing to dabble into dslr from a film background. The only negative is the ability at higher ISO settings. Newer cameras do produce much ...

    An impressive Camera body.

    I have created a digital camera with my excellent quality Pentax K lenses, at a fraction of the cost. I am very happy with the quality of the photographs, but focusing the lenses in the traditional way. This model was I have read, one of the best cameras of its time, it still has a very contemporary feel, even though technology has moved on.

    Not that easy to use as not used to a digital camera but must say very good quality image is sharp and also uses my lenses that I already had, well looked after and very clean, can't find any damage on it, very nice camera.

    Older flash units

    If you are considering using your old film flash units in TTL mode, they do not work as the reflectivity fr, the sensor is not the samea as from film, You can still us the metering on the flash though.
