    Salter compact timer.

    Salter is good reliable brand. Have purchased Salter products before. This is a compact timer. A good magnet on the rear and a large very clear display. Easy to use. Looks good , unfussy clean lines in design.

    Bought to replace a similar "Big Digit" ...

    Bought to replace a similar "Big Digit" timer which had developed a fault after 25 years of use. Sadly, it isn't a success because the alarm itself is barely audible over the clattering pots and pans, or if the kettle, tumble dryer, washing machine or food processor are in use at the same time. My husband has hearing loss in both ears: he can't hear it at all. I don't know if every one of these is as quiet as this, or if this one is faulty: either way, the one I've bought isn't fit for purpose.
