A Fantastic Rework of Dragon Warrior 4

Seriously, this game was one of my favorites as a child. I beat it on the NES and I'm glad to see it survive on in this form. Perhaps I'll beat it now and pass it to my son when he's old enough to learn the tough love of monster grinding, old school style.

  • Another awesome DQ game

If you like DQ you'll like this one , the music is amazing , the character sprites look nice and the story has been great so far. I just beat Chapter 1 and can't wait to play the rest of the game.

  • Dragon Quest IV: Nostalgia and Improvements

Going to lead off with my single complaint about the game - Much of the original script and many of the original names of items, spells, monsters, towns, and even main characters' names have been reworked. The only real complaint in this is the feeling that some of the treasured characters from my childhood are no longer the same. What do you mean Mara and Nara are now called Maya and Naya?!? Additionally, most regions have their own "dialect", which can be a little hard to decipher sometimes in the written speech (did we really need to spend the entire first chapter trying to decipher Scottish accents?). However, once the game starts rolling, it is immediately apparent that they've stayed true to the core of the game. The enemy sprite graphics (at least at rest) are nearly identical to ...

  • Fun and Classic JRPG

I like the game. I think it's pretty good. I give it a good/10 pretty good if you like JRPGs and want a nice one with some really fun monster designs and some amazing puns, then this is the game for you

  • Classic RPG fare

After recently beating Dragon Quest V, I bought this one as fast as I could. Both of the Dragon Quests are remakes of the original for the Famicom(Nintendo) and Super Famicom(Super Nintendo), that were only released in Japan. I've only just started on DQ IV, but it sports great graphics for the DS, yet still retaining a classic feel, plus it come with many features that give it a feel of polish. The battle system, and story is reminiscent of classic RPG's so don't expect something new and innovative, but if you love a fun, well-made, traditional RPG; this is the game for you.
