You just can't beat manufacturer batteries for quality
Purchased this Sony NP-FV70A battery "open box" here on eBay. Was still expensive, but about half the price of what it would have cost me new sealed. You can't beat genuine Sony batteries for longevity. In my experience, aftermarket batteries NEVER last as long as manufacturer ones. And they inflate the specs of their batteries to some outrageous claim. So it's a trade off ... pay a higher price for quality, and get longer recording time on one battery, or suffer with reduced performance, having to change batteries more frequently, and carry more batteries in your bag while saving a little money. For my new Sony AX53 4K camcorder, I decided to pay a higher cost and enjoy better performance. Purchased this Sony NP-FV70A battery "open box" here on eBay. Too large for use with viewfinder
Good battery life, but too large to allow you to use the viewfinder. If you're using the viewfinder you need a FV70, not the A. If you going to use a tripod, you might as well get the FV100 for additional life.
