This is actually a salt cellar for a very high end dinnerware set. In the 18th century salt was a heavily taxed high end commodity in France. I suspect it is from the first Vincennes/Sevres dinner ware set ordered by Louis XV in 1751. The piece dates to1753 as there is no date letter. “mW” below the Sevres mark is for Mme (Magloire) Wagon, repareur ca1752-92 from factory records.
