Cast in the arcade-spirit of Sega's Bass Fishing, Cabela's Monster Bass is an action-oriented fishing game with fast-paced combos and high score bonuses. After selecting a male or female character, players drive a boat across one of six lakes and decide on the perfect fishing spot. Casting the line is initiated by flicking the analog stick, and less patient players can even attract fish by inputting specific commands. Once a fish starts biting, the battle begins. Players must carefully balance reeling in the fish while keeping an eye on the line's tension so it doesn't break. <br><br>Reeling in fish is accomplished by moving the analog stick in the same directions as onscreen visual cues. Combos can also be used to weaken the fish's resolve, allowing for an easier catch. Tournament Fishing is the game's primary mode, incorporating six authentic lakes: Lake Wylie, Clear Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, Lake Amistad, Logan Martin Lake, and Lake Okeechobee. As players progress, additional rods, lures, and live bait become available to improve the odds of landing the "big one." Other play options include an Open Fishing mode and a Quick Challenge. The former has players fishing on their choice of lakes, while the latter involves racking up high scores in timed events.

GREAT FISHING GAME 2 Thumbs up.
I have a few fishing games for PS2 and XBOX. This one I would have to say is very close to my top pick. The controler is used as much as it can be. Its not just hook a fish and real there are alot of combo moves you have to do to successfully land the fish, much like Tony Hawk pro skater type combos. Plus the added twist........ by making some of these fish UNREALISTICALLY LARGE. Ive caught a 47 pound Largemouth, yeah it probably is totally impossible for a Largemouth to get that size but thats what adds that litttle extra bit of fun to the game.I have a few fishing games for PS2 and XBOX. Don't like the "Combo Controls"
I didn't like the "combo contols". Felt more like a Dance Dance Revolution game than a fishing game

almost there
Pretty good game, a little repetitive though. Seems to be missing the polish that makes a good game great. Some features are difficult to use, but that's just me. I enjoyed Sega's version of Bass Fishing much more, and was expecting something like that with this game.

Everything was great. Easy to start up. Graphics were unbelievable. Only would have liked to create a player or larger lakes. Great chance to unlock specialty items. (review written by 13 yr old). I would definitely recommend this game for fishing fun.

This game has loads of realistic lures, several different species of fish including catfish, bream, and crappie. many different kinds of bass. It's suitable for experts and beginners alike.
