I believe this book provides a great overview of owning a horse. Although I have been around horses for over 21 years, I still learned some new facts and understanding of horses. I would also want a teacher edition, quizzes, worksheets, test generator, and/or workbook., Equine Science, by Rick Parker is written in a style that contains all necessary information, but is not overwhelming for high school students to understand. It is clear and easy to understand. It challenges students to learn, but does not go over their heads. The diagrams and pictures in each chapter are great and help students to understand material better. It has really helped my students to have good pictures to look at and refer to as they study for tests and quizzes. Also, I have used many of the Student Activities at the end of each chapter. They are a great supplemental teaching tool. -Jason Bair Agriscience Instructor Madison High School Rexburg, ID, "Equine Science contains the type of sound, practical information which is suitable for both equine enthusiasts and professionals alike. Thorough coverage of husbandry reproduction, nutrition, diseases and parasites helps to ensure that students gain the knowledge necessary to maintain healthy, productive stock." -Jody Rockett, DVM Veterinary Technology College of Southern Idaho Twin Falls, ID, "Equine Science is a comprehensive textbook that makes it an excellent choice for a beginning Equine Science course, and the numerous illustrations complement the text to help students understand the concepts. The material is presented at a level that is understandable to beginners, yet it covers all areas of Equine Science." -Dr. Jeannette A. Synopsis
Equine Science, third edition was designed to make teaching and learning easy. Based on a thorough, easy-to-follow outline that makes developing a lesson plan simple, each chapter starts with a list of learning objectives that helps the student identify the most important concepts in the chapter. Throughout the book, tables, charts, graphs and illustrations provide easy access to information without wading through excess detail, enabling students to quickly grasp the content. To help maintain interest, each chapter contains at least one sidebar to encourage retention of the information learned, and the discussion of new topics. In the Student Activities section at the end of each chapter, students and instructors will find opportunities for learning by applying the knowledge they have gained from the book. The Appendix contains helpful tables with information for converting units of measure, and for making contact with the industry and organizations as well as web addresses for equine industries and other useful Internet sites.

The seller was kind enough to send me a USPS tracking number so that I could have a good idea as to when I’d receive my item. It came a day later than expected (probably due to the cold snap and snow storm here) and the seller was quick to respond when I voiced my concern on its arrival. It was packaged very well, no water damage or dings. Would recommend buying books from this seller!

My item shipped, but I never received it. I contacted the seller, and the seller quickly responded and offered to ship another with a deep discount. I requested a refund, and the seller quickly obliged, and refunded money promptly. I would buy from this seller again!
