It takes a little research to pair to Smartthings
WORKS GREAT! I was just about to give up and return this when I stumbled upon a Utube video that explained how to pair this lock to Smartthings. Once I followed the instructions of running the ST Z-wave utility, it worked like a charm! Sorry I can't include a link. Search Utube for Samsung Smartthings Door Lock Pairing & setup. That's the best I can do for you.

Had trouble with battery life; was good until that happened.
Battery life is sometimes terrible (it seemed fine for the first few months, but has burned out two sets of batteries in like 1.5 weeks now) and it’s very difficult to figure out why. I added a nearby Z-wave repeater that supports beaming and security S2, but I continued to experience problems with battery drain until I gave up and removed the module. There’s an unmarked LED that seems to stay on for a while after any interaction with the lock but not sure what it means.Battery life is sometimes terrible (it seemed fine for the first few months, but has burned out two sets of batteries in like 1.5 weeks now) and it’s very difficult to figure out why. Worked on Kwikset 914 with Abode Gen 2
I needed to replace a Kwikset 914 Zigbee logic board and purchased this based on another review showing a success. At first, I was able to complete the exclusion process but not inclusion. After checking out a YouTube video, I saw that it takes a minute or so for a Z-Wave pairing to take place. Once I gave a little bit of patience, the lock paired up to my Abode Gen 2 Gateway. My wife and I use our phones to turn on and off the smartthings smart home monitor. The only problem is that sometimes we walk in and get an earful of sound. That's because it takes a little time for our arrival to register. However, now that I have the smart part of the lock, I created an override so that if we are away and we enter the code, the smart home monitor is turned off and the mode is set to home. Also, added an automatic lock when we say Good night to Alexa.My wife and I use our phones to turn on and off the smartthings smart home monitor.
