Cable is fine, it's necessity is annoying.
Does what it is supposed to do. Annoying that I need to by one, or use an adaptor to use an old style cable. Also annoying that Apple still feels they need to use a proprietary connector. You conformed on the Macbook, why are we still using these for iOS devices? Made by Apple, so quality is fine, but seems a lot to pay for a usb cable.

USB-C the "new" standard for device connectivity
Latest Apple MacBook Pro only has USB-C ports, therefore you either have to buy new cables or a converter for the "old" USB cable. It makes more sense to have a USB-C cable to connect the iPhone to the MacBook Pro. USB-C is small, the plugs go in either way up, making it easier to plug in!
