With a step-down from 12 to 5V it can deliver about 2A before the regulator gets a bit too hot for comfort - about 70% efficiency measured. Around 350mV ripple into resistive load @2A with low EMI. Output pot very sensitive at 5V output but it can be replaced by a fixed resistor if stability needed.
