Known as Oil of Cloves .....
Or, more simply, "Clove Oil," the product is a powerful local anethestic and at one-time was an absolutely essential dental product, I recently met a young dentist who had never heard of Oil of Cloves. In the old days, no pharmacy failed to stock this product; today, no pharmacy does, and no home medicine cabinet was complete without the small bottle of Clove Oil. It's home use was to numb completely the worst toothache. Clove Oil was also used in professional dentistry to soak filling material before placement in dry sockets. It was both inexpensive and completely effective. In the not-so-old movie Marathon Man, Dustin Hoffman played a man who was tortured by having his tooth nerves drilled through. When Hoffman's character answered truthfully, Clove Oil was applied to the tooth nerve, giving complete relief. Can't find Oil of Cloves anymore... I looked high and low before finding a source on eBay. Don't have any toothaches either, but it's comforting to have this stuff around.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
