Notes
2016 release from the veteran British rock 'n' roll band. We all know that the Stones (as with so many '60s UK bands) started out rocking the blues-and this new release, recorded in just three days in London in late 2015, takes us straight back to the band's blues roots. Their first studio album in more than a decade was produced by Jagger/Richards with Don Was and features their touring bassist Darryl Jones and keyboardists Chuck Leavell and Matt Clifford. As it should be, this down 'n' dirty blues album was recorded live in the studio with no overdubs: "Just Your Fool," "Commit a Crime," "Blue and Lonesome," "Everybody Knows About My Good Thing," "I Can't Quit You Baby" (last two featuring guitar by Eric Clapton) and more classics originally done by Little Walter, Otis Rush, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Magic Sam and more.

    It's a gas, gas, gas.

The Stones have never sounded better. The music here sounds as if they were having a blast recording it. Recommended highly for Rolling Stones fans and anyone else who loves great music. The Stones are aging like fine whisky. Absolutely awesomeness! Get it yesterday, folks; it's that good-surprisingly so considering some of the Stone' later work. Their hearts were on fire while recording and playing this music. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. I love it.

I expected much better music from the Stones after all of these years! Music was Boring! Slow! I will never buy anything new from the Stones Again!

The music was slow, boring, too Blue for me! I expected something better from the STONES!!!! Sounded like they just got together to jam some blues. Not there style!!! I wouldn't recommend this c.d. to ANYONE!!!

  • finally the stones get the blues

this is the blues album the Stones have been building up to for decades. It finally took Keith and Ronnie to spark this venture. Mick has never sounded so much like an actual blues singer as he does on this album. I guess he had to wait until he was in his 70's to hit his mark. As far as Keith and Ronnie, the last time they played the blues this well, and this naturally, was when they jammed with the great Muddy Waters at a small blues club in Chicago a few years ago. If you love the blues and the Stones, buy this record and enjoy the hell out of it!!!

  • If you love the blues you, get it!

The more you listen the better it gets. Charlie is amazing, Keith and Ronnie are great as usual. Mick, well Mick is just being Mick, sometimes he tries too hard putting his own twist on a song. Overall a good CD, I can't say better than the original songs since I love the classic Blues but hey it's the Stones so I'll take it. I hope they do a couple more Blues albums (while there is still time).

  • Stones blue and lonesome

Terrible, they mailed it in. No passion or pain in the songs, just a money grab. They have not felt the blues in about 40 years ! Do not waste your money every song clocks in around 3 minutes and the same harmonica on every song. Simply boring !
