Compatible with numerous operating systems such as Windows XP 32-bit/64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit/64-bit, Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit, Linux, and Mac OS X, latency reduction technology on this OCZ Vertex 4 SATA III 6.35-cm (2.5-inch) SSD creates low latency access of 0.02 ms. This facilitates quick booting, enhanced system responsiveness, and fast data access. The dual-ARM controller, without any data compression, reduces write amplifications to its optimum level, producing a better I/O. This internal solid-state drive has a SATA III interface with a storage capacity of 256 GB and a buffer size of 512 Mbps. With a sequential read speed of 560 MBps and sequential write speed of 510 MBps, the OCZ Vertex 4 SATA III SSD has a maximum of 120,000 IOPS. The OCZ 256 GB solid-state drive has a MTBF (mean time between failures) of 2 million hours that gives a better life expectancy to this device. This internal solid-state drive consumes 1.3 watts of power when idle and 2.5 watts in the active mode. This OCZ 256 GB solid-state drive has dimensions of 10 cm in length by 7 cm in width by 0.9 cm in height (3.9 inches by 2.7 inches by 0.4 inches).

Well worht the money. As I expected as this is a solid state drive it really speeds my machine up. I did a rebuild of the machine to install it rather than a straight clone of the original disc but other than that the installation was very straightforward. I did buy a second one for another machine and had problems as the maching in question would not recognise the disc in the BIOS although it would recognise it in a Linux environment.Well worht the money.
