One of the best 055s, but it's not perfect
This is a very good medium-sized carbon fibre tripod. It's solid and lightweight. I particularly like the rotating mount for the spirit level, which allows you to position it so that it isn't obscured by part of your tripod head. I have found this to be much more convenient than the fixed bubble arrangement on the 055CXPRO3 or the 755CX3. The mechanism for swivelling the centre column to horizontal is neater than on the 055CXPRO3 too. There is a mounting point for a flexi-arm or similar accessory on the centre boss so that you can attach an LED light, for example. This is also a plus point for this model if you use such features. The leg locks and new leg angle adjuster tabs are less successful. Manfrotto claim that the locks are quicker and easier to use than previous leg locks, but I ... The poor leg locks and slightly naff leg angle adjusters are the only reason I give this tripod 4 stars not 5.
