About this product

Product Information

"If 'sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll' is what you want, it's what you'll get in these photo-laden pages. Kramer's style is honest, straightforward and pulls no punches." -- Publishers Weekly Cash meets The Heroin Diaries in Hit Hard: Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer's moving and inspiring story of fighting personal demons, as well as a wildly glamorous, crazy, drug-addled, behind-the-drum-set look at one of the greatest bands in rock n' roll history. From never-before-told Aerosmith war stories across their entire 40 year career to Joey's own struggles with addiction and depression, Hit Hard is only the second authorized biography of the band--following the New York Times bestseller Walk This Way--and the first autobiography from any Aerosmith band member.

Reviews
If 'sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll' is what you want, it's what you'll get in these photo-laden pages. Kramer's style is honest, straightforward and pulls no punches., I love this book; this is an important book, because it's not bullshit. Joey had the balls to see what underneath the hood, and to fix it. Being a rock star was easy compared to that.

  • Depression hits us all

Another book about addiction...I have been into Aerosmith since the 70's, and of course always heard the horror stories about all the drugs these guys have done..Although this book of course was about the drummer, Joey Kramer, he does mention a lof of the stuff that went on..He had a terrible relationship with his father and mother, which I think a lot of teenagers back then did, the age of rock and roll, drugs, etc...I just can't imagaine a life growing up like that..My father was so the opposite, a fact that I see more and more every day getting older. He is a special man...but back to the book..Aerosmith has been my fav band for years, and have seen them several times in concert..They rock, and its nice to know that for the past couple of decades, they are doing it drug free..I have ...

  • a good read

Kramer had to overcome a lot based on his contentious relationship with his father. While reading, I found myself reflecting on my own demons. If you’re an Aerosmith fan, you’ll like this book.

  • Joey's story is moving, courageous and hopeful

If you are an Aerosmith lover, or battle with any addiction, this book can speak to you. Sure, being famous seems ok, but Joey comes out and shares his frailty and despair on a topic most will not discuss. I really enjoyed the book, and felt like I got a little nugget into Joey's life to understand who he is a little better. Makes me love Aerosmith all the more and Joey.

  • Great Reading

This is a great book. Truthful, coming from Joey, himself. Written for easy reading. Wonderful color pictures. Nice addition to my Aerosmith collection.

  • Great

    Great item. Would buy again.
