Everything works superfast, really long battery life, lots of memory....its amazing. Only issue (as other reviews state) is focusing when recording video. This can be fixed easily using a camera app other than the stock one.

Bought this phone, really impressed. However support is awful, mine failed after a month of use and due to grey importers ebay 30day and paypal don't cover you. Shame, good phone, high end spec, but should you encounter an issuebeware. The real downside of this phone is it's camera, everything else you can't complain for the money. But reliability and no support means 1 star!

No need to list the features and hardware, it is well known. It packs a punch and I do not think yuo can buy a phone with similar (high end) specs at this pricepoint! Pros: + Price + Hardware well tuned (it works, and oh so fast!) + Dual SIM card - love it! + Vivid display Cons (none on them major! I am just listing things that I find COULD be better... but really, could they? At this price?) - Too slim; tends to be very slippery in hand. Of course this is fixed by putting the phone into any case of your liking... which is always advisable anyway - Camera position - this is preference much more than a "downside". Camera in the senter would perhaps make more sense... but again, would it? Not sure... just an unusual camera position, that's all - Picture quality - this one is the ONLY thing I would leave on the "cons" list, if I had to pick one. Camera captures soft images. Good enough for 95% of situations. I have been spoiled with Carl-Zeiss lens on Lumia prior to this so I should imagine NO PHONE comes anywhere close to that anyway. All in all, this is shockingly low-priced product that plays a higher league than what it would suggest. It is sturdy, built solidly, tuned well so hardware delivers great performance. I actually have no complaints whatsoever... am one happy customer! Way to go, Xiaomi!Read full review

Having been a big fan of Chinese market phones for the last 5/6 years this is my 4th device as they offer excellent specs for the price, one of the major failings is the manufacturer's failure to update the operating system as they used custom versions of the Android OS updating your device was at best very poor. The Mi A1 may be the game changer On delivery the phone had android 7 installed first prompt was for a December security/stability update and then into the January one with an update to android 8. So already a vast improvement over previous devices and with the OS being maintained by Google this should continue to give support for the latest updates. In general use the phone is good fast and responsive when using apps and web, games play well with minimal load time or graphics lag with 3d games, camera is really good not tried it in low light (some reports of poor results in low light) IR blaster with remote controls is a nice extra. Solid feel with metal case add to a general impression of good build quality It's still early days but so far I think this a great phone especially with a price tag of £150-£170 it puts a lot of the competition to shame... I certainly won't be shopping with Apple or Samsung etc any time soon if the quality of this device is anything to go by. Hardware by the Chinese OS serviced by Google at affordable prices is a winner for me.Read full review

Have been using this phone for a couple of weeks now and am really happy with it, it's excellent value for money, all apps work as expected, screen display is very good. Showed it to a couple of colleagues, one didn't like it as thought too big, the other interested in buying to replace his 2 year old iPhone.
