For those who couldnÆt get enough of SHREK, HAPPILY NÆEVER AFTER supplies a similar take on fairy-tale traditions. Set in Fairy Tale Land, this comedy features the heroes and villains of stories from Rumplestiltskin to Sleeping Beauty. The job of the wizard (George Carlin) is to ensure everyone has happy endings. But when he leaves on vacation, he entrusts his tasks to his inept assistants. CinderellaÆs evil stepmother (Sigourney Weaver) begins to wreak havoc on the endings of fairy tales. Though sheÆs interested in menace in general, she particularly wants her stepdaughter, Ella (Sarah Michelle Gellar), to suffer. She vows to keep her from Prince Charming (Patrick Warburton), much to the delight of his servant, Rick (Freddie Prinze, Jr.), who is in love with Ella himself. HAPPILY NÆEVER AFTER takes aim at the stories everyone knows by heart. Here Prince Charming needs a guidebook to behave like royalty, with Warburton fashioning a delightfully doltish contrast to traditional romantic heroes. Character actor Jon Polito plays a big bad wolf who could have been an extra on GOODFELLAS. As the wicked stepmother, Weaver turns decades of experience playing strong women into portraying this archetypal baddie. With its celebrity voices, HAPPILY NÆEVER AFTER is an amusing reversal of DisneyÆs fairy-tale films of the past.

    Happily N'ever After

    Its a bit of a spin off, the kids didnt really get into it. Looks great, good voice actors, but not the sort of DVD you could watch over and over agin - like Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast, Incredibles etc. Good enough to kill a couple of hours but not good enough to stay in our collection!

    A GREAT DVD FOR THE KIDS.NOT AS GOOD AS SHREK,DOESNT QUITE HAVE THE SAME WOW FACTOR BUT A FAB MOVIE NON THE LESS THAT THE LITTLE ONES WILL ENJOY.THE FILM IS FULL OF WELL KNOWN FAIRYTALE CHARACTERS THAT THE KIDS WILL RECOGNISE SO CAN FOLLOW THE PLOT EASILY.NOT 10/10 BUT DEFINATELEY WORTH A WATCH.ADULTS WILL ENJOY THIS TOO.

    Hap Never.

    This film is ok, but i would not have gone to cinema to watch it, but if you like movie about nursery rhymes, then you will like this movie and number 2, and the kids will like it.

    Happily N'ever after

    Great film for the kids with plenty of hidden adult laughs as well ! Great characters which the children already recognise so it grabs their attention. Have watched this film a few times and it still brings laughs.
