  • Shameful exploitation

    This film is an insult to the memory of Fatty Arbuckle. Everyone involved in the making of this travesty ought to be ashamed. First of all, it is only very loosely based on the original Arbuckle scandal. (And we must remember Fatty was acquitted of all charges despite the damage to his career.) It is mostly an excuse for James Coco to overact and Raquel Welch to turn in her usual wooden performance. Even if this were not a deliberate attempt to exploit the Arbuckle scandal, it would still be a terrible film with embarrassing performances by all concerned. One hopes this will be a "lost" film in the future, as no one needs to ever see it. (On a sidenote: This is based on a terrible poem by an obscure poet who deserves his non-notoriety.)
