    Eagles of Mitsubishi" by Jir-O Horikoshi, Shojiro Shindo (1992, Paperback, Reprint) This book, Written by the Chief Design Engineer, is of a very misunderstood aircraft. This explains why the aircraft never received armor, self sealing fuel tanks, possessed poor dive performance, and many other problems, as seen by the Western eyes. It also explains, with reference to the original design criteria, how it came to be, and it's revolutionary performance for the time. It will open your eyes and allow you to admire the process of designing an air superiority aircraft, for that period in time. It is a very worthwhile read, and although easy to read, it yet will impress you with all the information and facts in every paragraph and chapter. I can only recommend that you ...
