It is hallmarked with German Hanau marks for B. Neresheimer & Sohne along with the English import marks for Chester 1909 with the importer being B Muller & Son (Berthold Muller). It has been beautifully made with the lid being cast with a portrait of a gentleman, possibly Louis XVI, and the sides have been decorated with scrolls and flowers. It is in super condition being free from dings holes and repairs. The inside is clean and gilded and the lid closes tight and flush. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.8cm) across by 1 inch (2.6cm) tall and weighs 62 grams. A beautifully made very good quality piece.”
