Great slasher worth every penny, watch one of the greats in this genre
one of the greatest slasher film series ever created. Friday the 13th has been updated and revamped for a new generation. This 2009 re-imagining brings to life Jason Vorhees who is an unstoppable killer who drowned as a kid in crystal lake. This film has shock and gore. I would recommend it but if you have seen the originals forgive it for not being true to the originals because this film tries to cram the first three parts into one film this is why it only has a four star rating. If you like this film you really need to watch the original films. These films explain a lot more on how he came to be and the legend that is Jason, there are 9 original films starting with Friday the 13th part 1 - Friday the 13th Jason goes to hell. then there is Freddy vs Jason (which Jason goes to hell sets up ... one of the greatest slasher film series ever created. Friday The 13th DVD
I bought this film because someone told me that is was a really scary movie. Unfortunately, though I really didn't think it was that frightening. Still a very good film though and I would recommend it to all. A wee bit gory in parts but I suppose that is to be expected when you get movies like this. I bought this film at the same time as I bought Halloween. Both of these movies are quite similar although not the same obviously. Both are gory, scary (up to a certain point) and altogether good fun. One thing I did notice was that there was a lot of unnecessary swearing during the movie but I suppose that's what you get nowadays. I would much have preferred it without the swear words but I still enjoyed the movie (I just tuned out the bad language!).I bought this film because someone told me that is was a really scary movie.
