Inadequate number of sanding discs, slightest mistake if you don't keep disc square (tricky on a curved surface) and you get gouges in the plastic. Have plenty of backup grit including 600/800/1500/2000.! Did the other headlamp just using sheets of paper and results just as good. The polishing stage works better. Looks great on U tube and box, but good luck with it!

Having read the reviews i thought "give it a go" I have an 05 reg Astra with really poor lenses. I must say the final results were amazing, just like new, the attached photos don't do the finished article justice to be honest, they are much better in the flesh. The only reason i don't give the product 5 stars is that there are not enough sanding discs (for some maybe but not for mine). As somebody has previously stated, when you start with the 800 grit it is pretty scary, at first you think you have ruined the light beyond repair. It depends on how badly your lights are to start with but I also used an orbital sander with my own 800 paper at a reasonable speed and then went on to use the drill attached pad supplied in the kit afterwards purely because i could see there were not going to be enough discs in the kit to do both lights and obviously ordinary wet or dry paper won't stick to the supplied drill attachment. The kit instructions say to use water on the 2000 and 3000 grit stages but I used a very mild soapy solution in a hand spray right from the start as it gave a smoother finish and stopped the paper getting clogged. In my opinion if you take your time and get the worst of the scratches out with the 800 the rest is just getting a better finish each time until you reach the polishing stage. I would thoroughly recommend this product but would have liked more discs.Read full review

This restoration kit is the real deal! My headlights are now nice and clean and brighter! Worth the money as my car is 17 yrs old and finding new headlights would have been difficult and costly and a pain to swap out. This kit is scary at first as you have to scuff the plastic with the sanding discs but as long as you read the instructions carefully and to the letter you wont go wrong. Be patient, take your time and behold a new set of headlamps!

Great kit works like a dream, follow the instruction steps slowly and with care and you will see the results. Only factor is that can prevent you from having a perfect final result is having enough P800 discs to complete the work you need to do on your headlights depending on how weathered yours actually are. I would recommend buying at least 20 extra P800 discs to get the discolouration marks fully sanded down before you continue with the next steps of the process. Once your headlight is showing all the weather damage to be fully removed then continue with the kit P1500 onwards and it will complete beautifully. Really does produce amazing results. I took a Jaguar XRR headlights that were badly weathered from life in Scotland etc, 13yr old car to look like near new. Only few deep long scratches remain, which are motorway stone chip scratches, but they get thiner and much less visible the further you get through the last processes. Read full review
