An American classic and great bestseller for over thirty years, A Separate Peace is timeless in its description of adolescence during a period when the entire country was losing its innocence to World War II. Nominated as one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read. Set at a boys' boarding school in New England during the early years of World War II, A Separate Peace is a harrowing and luminous parable of the dark side of adolescence. Gene is a lonely, introverted intellectual. Phineas is a handsome, taunting, daredevil athlete. Story of a kid at a boarding school in Northern England during WWII

In its 38th printing, this is a classic "coming of age" story that is one of the greatest novels I've ever red -- and I had never even heard of it until a friend recommended it. Fabulous piece of literature -- extremely well written on top of being a great story. Ranks right up there with Catcher In The Rye and To Kill A Mockingbird.

  • Tons highlighting and writing in book

The description said that this book was in good condition. When I got the book it was decent, a couple bent corners, the cover was in pretty good shape. But when I opened it, almost all of the text was highlighted and lots of writing in the book.

  • Dianne Boseman Review

This book was not the type of reading I enjoy. Well written but the storyline was too slow.
