The camcorder did not work, I am very disappointed, I will not recommend anyone to buy job lots which is what this was.
I've just bought my second MV800 to replace one that has been misbehaving following some rough handling over the past few years. The camera is intuitive to use; the menus are reasonably simple to navigate and I've hardly ever needed to refer to the manual. Actually, only once - and that was to figure out how to attatch the shoulder strap. Integration with Windows XP and my video editing software is a doddle - really is plug and play. Canon products are not the cheapest in the market, but you need to look at what you get - good quality optics and solid electronics, plus ease of use. I bought Canon originally having seen it used professionally in TV production work. The only downside that I would mention is that you have to remember that these are consumer and not professional products and so if used roughly, the cases will get marked and they don't take kindly to being dropped.Read full review
pros - great quality for a tiny camera, very responsive in low light, excellent lens and zoom, great sounding stereo mic, easy to use, with a decent array of features for a consumer cam. cons - auto off feature cannot be disabled, once auto off sequence starts cannot be stopped unless you press record.
Superb Product! I've used Canon cameras for many years from 35mm, Digital SLR's & Camcorders. I just wanted a no hassle mini DV Camcorder & ended up with this one! Superb quality, very easy to use, light & compact. Purchase price off E-Bay was superb - I couldn't have asked for more!!
