    A top 5 epic sci fi / human adventure of all time

    A borderline masterpiece of epic adventure cinema with a great plot line that has a broad scope beyond Khan versus Kirk. Performances are fantastic, particularly Ricardo Montalbon. And the music score is one of the best; if you can't get John Williams, James Horner does a magnificent job delivering the atmosphere and emotion. BUT, many of the snippets of scenes cut from the original release - which are delivered here as extras - had no reason being cut. They would've only given more context and gravity to the situations going on; particularly McCoy with Spock and Kirk in his quarters talking about Genesis. What was Meyer thinking?; removing seconds of good dialogue that only serve to improve the scene. Regardless, it is truly a great movie to watch with a very human adventure set in a sci ...

    Has the same version & same features as the old Director's cut DVD, plus a bit more. Nice to have this cut on Bluray. The transfer is a bit dark though, more brightness, contrast & saturation would have been nice. Good and sharp though, nice price too. Not crazy about the cover art.

    Saw this movie when I was a kid. Great nostalgia when it comes to Star Trek. I also love the Blu-ray design and all the features. The only downside is there was no slip cover with this item.

    Great movie, finally released on Blu-ray, don't know why the 'Collection' Star Trek sets don't just come with the Director's Cuts anyway... Great quality, best version. Highly Recommended.
