First time in print since 2009! Originally released in 2008, Mariee Sioux's Faces in the Rocks immediately elevated the songwriter to the vanguard of a burgeoning California folk revival alongside Joanna Newsom, Devendra Bahnart, Vetiver, and Alela Diane. Although Mariee had already made a name for herself as a touring member of Brightblack Morning Light, it was not until the release of Faces in the Rocks that Mariee's agile fingerpicking and impressionistic songwriting made her one of the movement's leading figures. Sadly, the label that originally released Faces in the Rocks disbanded just as the album's momentum was secure. The first pressing of the CD sold out, there was no vinyl pressed whatsoever, and the master recordings were lost in the shuffle of legal wrangling. Years passed. Mariee released an EP with Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, and a sophomore solo LP, Gift for the End, followed shortly afterwards. She toured Europe and the U.S. extensively; her fans kept asking for Faces in the Rocks. With their support, Mariee successfully mounted a kickstarter campaign to buy back the rights to her recording... and the rest is history. Now, with the help of Whale Watch Records and Almost Musique, Mariee Sioux's groundbreaking debut will see the light of day once more.

    listing had wrong title (was EP, not LP), wrong tracklist, no photo, so did not receive the album i thought i was ordering. when i asked to return, seller said I should have known that i wouldn't get what the listing advertised, since the tracklist belonged to the CD version of this album. they did refund me in full immediately, and the vinyl was perfectly mint and well shipped, so that's nice, but i hope they'll do better in the future. feels gross to be blamed by the seller for trusting them.

    I'm sorry but that's not true and not a fair comment. We explained you the reason for the problem. Ebay catalogue info was wrong as they used the same information of the 2cd versio for the 2LP. When we uploaded the barcode number of the 2LP Ebay assumed it was the same tracking 2CD. We can't change Ebay infornation So not sellers fault. You could have contacted us before placing the order. Didin't you find strange 28 tracks (150 min of Music) in just 2 LP's? it's something that's not normal.
