Chrono Trigger, released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, is representative of early role-playing games. It's considered one of the best games in the genre, combining innovative gameplay, a unique world map, and an interesting story to create an immersive experience. Players follow Chrono and five other playable characters as they try to restore the flow of history. The game makes use of time travel, allowing players to move across seven different eras, with actions in the past influencing future events.
