limited.
why does netgear still lock dhcp to the class c network range the router is on? many of us run class a or b private networks and this breaks our net design.
please unlock the dhcp for class a and b networks.
please also get rid of the internet required setup! oi... sandbox setup is so hard when required to setup via netgear dot com

Re: r7000p nighthawk dhcp locked
You do not need to use apps fpr management of the router. You can use a PC. Open a browser window and go to 191.168.1.1.
Go to netgear and put in your router model. This will take you to where you can download firmware and also a user manual. In there it will tell you about using a browser and also how to do a IMHO recommended way to manually update the firmware.
As far as classes for IP addresses, keep in mind this is a consumer grade router with a max of 32 devices per wireless channel for example so you are not going to run out of IP addresses. What you are asking for is commerical grade which these definitely are not.

Re: r7000p nighthawk dhcp locked
you are required at first to do the registration and other starter stuffs via netgear dot com.
after that the router is "unlocked" at 192.168.1.1.
as far as a consumer product, tplink gives all of this, so why not netgear? tplink is a taiwan dlink knockoff!
reminds me why i stopped buying netgear, so now i have an expensive nutured item that is replacing my tplink. only 32 items on wifi channel? why? with all the alexia and google home items (smart plugs, visio speakers, thermostats, coffe pots, refridgerators,....), tablets, smartphones, wifi cams, .... the consumer world is going very wireless (all wifi and dhcp) why make such a limited consumer product?
please get netgear out of it's 20yr old rut.
should have bought the newer tplink router. well, i hope dd or openwrt can save my purchase.
