    Great strings for you violin.

I've tried many different strings and string companies including most of the Pirastro line and many lesser priced, both perlon core and steel core strings from a variety of manufacturers. Thomastic Dominant are really great strings for the money. They are clear toned with excellent sustain and easy play on the fingers. They aren't gut strings but still have charm and ring. For anything short of the super soloist, they are a great choice.

If it looks too good to be true.......

These are fakes. Packaging could not be more authentic in appearance; rarely do you see Chinese knock-offs that look this genuine. Careful examination of the contents reveals the truth. When compared to genuine Dominants, these are obviously steel-cored, as there is no synthetic material showing at the ball ends or peg ends, and, unlike Dominants, they are quite stiff at both ends. When measured with a micrometer, there are noticeable differences in the diameters. German strings coming from China at half the price? Gee.....

  • E string broke right away

When I opened the package, The E string pack looked different from the rest of the packs as shown in the picture. I installed it last week and my daughter missed her violin lesson due to the E string broke while she was doing her morning practice. This is the first time happened to me with dominant violin strings. I have no choice than to install back the old E string which I kept until I can buy a brand new E string.

  • Dominant Strings are a Best Buy Value

have used Thomastik Dominant strings for over 5 years with great success. Easy change-out with consistently great sound. Tonal quality and clarity as well as sound volume are always outstanding. Easy to tune and holds set extremely well. Exceptional value for the price.
