In so doing, he and his companions C-3PO, R2-D2, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Obi-Wan Kenobi plunge head-first into a war between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. They discover the Empire has built a new weapon of mass destruction, the Death Star, which is capable of destroying planets. During their adventure, they also meet one of the most memorable villains in sci-fi history, Darth Vader.
