    Peter Brook and Paul Scofield do a gritty, authentic Lear, filmed entirely in Denmark ca 1970

    One of the best King Lear versions. Gritty and unsettling. I love the "O reason not the need" speech to the daughters, who glare at Lear like coiled snakes. This DVD is impossible to find in the US, I bought this one from the UK and converted it from the European format to mp4 on my PC.
