The Second Son refers to a man showing signs of being the second coming of Christ.
One of my favorite books! I'm not a religious person(strong philosophical beliefs) but the way the theme of the book is presented makes it a compelling read. The story revolves around a construction worker who starts experiencing happenings that point to him being the second coming of Christ but the man(Joseph Turner) doesn't want that distinction. Some people want him dead and the Catholic church gets involved. A real thriller without heavy handed preaching. Worth reading more than once. Heck yeah, the book is compelling.
Many years ago my dad gave me a copy of this book. Took it on a camping trip and everyone became captivated with the story. By the first evening, we began taking turns reading a chapter each, invoking a rule that no one could read ahead. By departure time the third morning, only a few chapters remained. It rained as we loaded up and moved to a covered pavilion so all could hear the last few chapters. Others in the pavilion inched closer to hear. We cried.
