    Ricoh WG-5

    We purchased this camera for our 11 year old daughter who has become very interested in photography. However, she is still 11 and we wanted something that could hold up to a little abuse (ie. being dropped, getting it wet) without breaking. The WG-5 definitely fits the bill. It is compact and easy to use. It has a nice sized screen on the back for viewing and the ruggedness/waterproof ability have been tested (as she has dropped it once and used it to take underwater pictures in the pool) without any issues. The camera strap that came with the camera was convenient because of the attached clamp but was too bulky to fit in the small Ricoh/Pentax camera case that was specified for this unit. Therefore, we did purchase a separate camera strap that has an adjustable clamp on it so she ...

    great action camera

    over the past 4 years this has been my favorite camera. small enough that I can put it in my back pocket. tough enough to take it everywhere, takes excellent 16 mp in daylight. can make 8X10" prints even in the dark, 3x5" prints are still possible without a tripod thanks to the F2 aperature. things you will need to get the most out of this camera: batteries: wasabi makes great battery charger set for this camera for about $25 expect to use 1 battery per outing, 2 if you are taking video. Lanyard: a loop for your wrist is best, so you can grab the camera quick without touching the lens lens cloth: because fingerprints on the lens will happen all the time.
