    Long lasting thermostat

    I bought this thermostat to replace an earlier model of the same 'stat - the old one had only lasted thirty two years!!! This thermostat has 'change over' contacts - these are required if you have a 'Y' Plan system, A thermostat with only make or break contacts would not allow a 'Y' Plan system to work correctly. If you are not sure of your system, Google 'Y Plan heating system, although this 'stat will work on other systems. Very easy to fit, although I would recommend that you either take a photograph or make a drawing of the wiring on the old unit to make sure that you get it right first time. I am now hoping that the new one will last for 32 years.

    Good quality products

    The product was received in time and was reasonably priced. Looks genuine Honeywell product. Fitting took about 30 minutes. Did not have to use the strap as I used the existing strap. There should be an option to buy without the strap to make the price cheaper. Let's see how it functions as the old one lasted nearly 30 years.

    Excellent product.

    Very reasonable price, well made and very reliable which is important as the complete safety and integrity of my domestic heating system relies on this unit. Until recently wood burning boiler stoves were not routinely fitted with a draught cut off if the water failed to circulate and the fire stoking was continued. This thermostat controls the pumps & zone valves of my system, if it failed to operate it is possible a serious explosion or fire could result
