    A simple, good product

    Well packaged,and works fine straight out of the box - the autofocus works really smoothly, although in some cases the camera (Nikon D3200) wasn't able to focus. Zooming in and out or removing and replacing the lens has worked so far in these cases. The lens is also very light and portable, although I'd imagine the plastic finishing may wear quickly if exposed to extreme conditions; the optical quality is also good over the entire range (from a quoted minimum distance of ~ 1ft upwards). One thing though; this lens does NOT come with vibration reduction (VR), so longer exposures will probably benefit from using a tripod or stable support; all in all, this kit lens makes a good starter lens for general purpose usage.

    Did not work

    Unfortunately it did not work. I just tried it today. I'll need to return it. Although it is my fault the lens also does not have the VR feature. I would prefer to return it for one that works and also has the VR feature. If an additional charge is necessary please advise

    Nikkor 18-55 zoom

    Although I would rather have had the VR version of this focal length, finances were not in favor. However, I'm not at all dissatisfied with the lens I received. Its condition is as good as new. It's tiny and tight and fast handling as one could possibly desire. I put it on my camera body the day it arrived and even though I have other lenses, including an older 35-70 that focuses much closer, I have not taken it off since. I love it too much not to use it!!

    Good value, but not the best lens

    I'm a new photographer. My photos come out nice and clear, but not ultra sharp unless I'm outside with natural sunlight. Seemingly, I need to have more light than my other larger lens. I also have trouble focusing on smaller objects with this lens. It does take good head shots and normal photos. Overall, however, the lens is a good value and I'm glad I purchased it.

    Excellent value for the money!

    Sharp images, great price (even new), low aberration/distortion. My favourite "let your kid explore the DSLR" lens. You won't cry if they drop it, they're probably going to take great pictures with it, and the zoom is quite smooth. Really, the only downside to this lens is that you can't manually focus without turning off autofocus. Big deal. The value-for-the-money is far exceeded by that little annoyance.
