I've got two of these antenna's in my attic with the titan pre- amp boosters. Reception is good. Nearest tower is 30 miles away. Some signal dropout during bad weather. Great antenna. Don't waste your time and money on cheaper antenna's, just buy it. Also, this will pick up some VHF stations on high band.

I live about 60 miles north of the Tampa transmitters. I used to use a large Channel Master Advantage 60 antenna mounted on a tower. The signal was perfect but I had problems with the birds landing on the antenna elements and leaving their "gifts" on my nearby photovoltaic solar panels. It was a huge mess to clean up after them every month so I needed to find an alternate solution. This EXTREMEtenna 80 fits the bill quite well with one exception: it is an excellent UHF antenna and only a good VHF antenna [as CM specifies]. But in my situation I had little choice to erect something that the birds would not perch on. Adding plastic anti-bird spikes to the top rungs of this antenna discourages birds from perching on it and my problem was solved. The tower was there long before the solar panels and it is embedded in a 4' deep footing so relocating the tower was not an option. This approach provided excellent UHF channel reception but the VHF channels needed some help. I purchased the Channel Master CM-7777HD signal amplifier and my problem was completely solved. Now I enjoy all channels at full 100% strength and quality. About one a week I will notice digital noise for about one second on channel 3 but all other channels are perfect. Plus the signal quality of antenna HDTV is *far* superior to the signal quality I used to get from my satellite service. I coupled this setup with the Channel Master DVR+, added their suggested outboard 1TB drive, and I now enjoy about 85% of the programming I used to get before "cutting the cable." I can record programs, watch them at more convenient times, and view almost everything I used to watch on the cable channels. PLUS this setup offers the sub-channels [8.1, 8.2, 8.3, etc.] that the satellite and cable companies do not so I actually get MORE channels than I used to. In summary, this is an excellent UHF antenna for folks living 60 miles from the transmitters and with the addition of an amplifier it works very well for VHF channels too. I personally save over $1,200 a year by moving to this setup and by connecting the DVR+ to my internet connection I also get streaming movies and other web-accessed services. The signal quality is FAR BETTER than satellite and the monthly cost is zero after the initial investment.Read full review

We had an old VHF TV antenna installed previously. Before it got too cold we replaced that old antenna with this UHF antenna with the expectations that we would leave Dish network once our contract expired the end of January 2016. We tested it out and are completely amazed how many high quality channels we get for free exactly 316 degrees north. We used a compass to point the antenna in the right direction. We also purchased a DVR+ DVR. Using Chromecast, Kodi, and Netflix we'll be saving at least $100 per month. I'm very pleased with this product.

Live 60 miles west of Cleveland and Akron. Get 40 channels, but few are entertaining. Father-in-law 2 miles north of us gets 55 channels on an antique antenna. Pay the money for satellite service if you want interesting entertainment.
